Vegan Chocolate Cream Pie

This vegan chocolate cream pie was first introduced to our family at our annual vegan pot luck dinner we had a month or so ago. Our friend Annmarie delighted us all with this wonderful recipe.

This recipe was inspired by her son Micheal. Made with the goodness of avocado’s, and the sweetness of organic vegan dark chocolate. This surely will become one of your families favorite treats to serve when you feel like indulging in some sweet treats!

The Filling:

  • 1 box of silken tofu
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 organic dark chocolate vegan bar
  • 2 tbsp. of coconut oiled gently melted
  • a wee bit of maple syrup or agave syrup if the chocolate is bitter.
  • orange extract or peppermint extract flavouring

For the crust:

  • Soak 3 cups of almonds overnight

In the morning:

Put almonds in the food processor, add 1 cup of dates. Process till smooth, press into pie plate.

Take the silken tofu, and the avocado and puree in the blender, add the extract of your choice.

Put the mixture in a medium size bowl.

Next melt the chocolate in a double broiler with Coconut Oil/Butter, this oil brings the goodness of the Omega 3’s to your tasty treat.Next add the organic dark chocolate to the bowl. At this point taste for sweetness and if you feel it needs it add a little syrup for taste.

Blend mixture all together and add to the pie crust. Put in the fridge to cool. ENJOY…your guests will have no idea they are eating a pie made with tofu… Decorate the top with berries of your choice.
