Healthy Vegan Baked Beans

This vegan baked beans recipes will be tempting your taste buds for years to come. It’s super easy to prepare, using ingredients generally found in your pantry. It is best served with warm fresh bread as a complete meatless meal. I bet you will be adding this recipe to your families favorite list as we have over the years!

 

Delicious Vegan Baked Beans:

2 cups of navy bean soaked over night submerged in water in pot
In the morning drain and rinse well and put back in the large pot, or crock pot if this is handier for you.

Add to the pot

  • 1/4 cup of ketchup
  • 1/4 cup of molasses
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2-3 gala apples peeled and chopped

Add enough water to thoroughly cover the beans up, checking through out cooking process to make sure there is enough liquid.

I always taste the beans about midway through the day to make sure they are sweet enough, the apples tend to add quite a bit of sweetness to your pot, if you wish you may substitute apple juice for some of the water.

Approximate cooking time varies, if you are not able to keep an eye on this dish you are best to put it in the crock pot on low for the entire day, but if you can keep on eye on it, cook stove top or stove top works well to.
